Multifunctional screen-printed films using polymer nanocomposite based on PPy/TiO2: conductive, photocatalytic, self-cleaning and antibacterial functionalities

In this work, two electrically conductive samples based on polypyrrole (PPy) and (PPy/TiO2) were synthesized via mini-emulsion polymerization. Synthesized used as functional fillers to formulate different screen-printing pastes (pastes A B) obtain the multi-purpose printed films with excellent properties, including electrical conductivity, antibacterial, photocatalytic activity, self-cleaning. The surface tension, pH, conductivity measurements validated acceptable features of produced pastes. Because shear-thinning behavior viscosity buildup properties pastes, rheological investigations confirmed their potential for screen-printing. According I–V test results, optimum sintering temperature was chosen a function patterns investigated by varying printing sequences 3, 6, 9 times sintered at (90 °C). contact angle water sample Paste B ca. 127° relatively higher than counterpart which verified superiority self-cleaning latter paste over former. studies concerning degradation methylene blue showed that removal percentage 63% achieved within first 90 min performing under UV light. film addressed issue filtering unused suspension nanoparticles, made it difficult remove particles from treated wastewater, in terms sustainability. fabricated using exhibited improved antibacterial activity.
